A lot of people want to avoid the fear-mongering associated with the whole “stranger danger” bit, but it's always useful to know about what's happening in and around your neighborhood. You live there, after all. This is where MobilePatrol can come in and help you stay well informed.

This app was created by Appriss, Inc and was released for the Android OS. While it's completely free to download and use, it actually updates quite often so that it will run smoothly and give you current information about crime around your immediate location. It's currently on version 5.5.5.

The Features of MobilePatrol

This app is basically like a live update hub for a neighborhood watch. Break-ins, assaults, abductions, etc, will give you an alert based on your proximity to the area. So you're not getting national news, and you're not getting stuff from the next town over. MobilePatrol works with law enforcement to give you only information about your current location, so you can stay informed.

So there aren't a ton of features here; everything is basically designed to alert you as to the goings-on in your neighborhood, and you can browse around easily to find out information about criminal records of your neighbors. Other than that, you don't really get a ton of features with this unique little app.
